The problem with energy and pollution is that the masses do not want to deal with the challenges.

The blackout this Summer? Nobody wants transmission lines in their backyard and States do not want to cede control to regional operators.

Pollution? Do you have any idea how much pollution is created by poor auto fuel efficiency? The DOT has the MPG stats, we could probably save 20% or 4 mbpd of oil if we stayed the course with fuel efficiency standards.

Fuel Dependency, no one wants to drill for oil or gas in many areas, so the investments and the jobs go to the Mideast.

Coal, no one wants a new clean coal plant built by them. Even if they do some environazi group will hold it up for years.
