Religious charities from the west have morphed into corporations going for market share.
It is no secret that religious charities look at the world in terms of market share and conquest - accumulating souls on the cheap with surplus milk powder.
The first problem is the viewpoint of advanced culture versus indigenous culture. People going with this viewpoint can hardly be expected to understand or appreciate the local culture. They are highly motivated and completely believe they are an improvement over the local culture.
Indigenous cultures have diffused boundaries between religion and life, and by destroying their religion, they
cause disruption of the whole society.
To take away the only thing that the defenceless people have and to call it charity is mind boggling. In earlier times missionaries went in to soften up the place for colonial conquest, now their role is soften it up for the one true way - homogenized globalized consumerist psuedo-democracies.
