I caught the tail end of something on NPR a few minutes ago, probably about Said, saying "the esteemed scholar died yesterday." Followed by a tasteful little elegiac snippet of orchestral horn wail, the kind one heard a lot of after 9/11 and during the war in Iraq. And I thought of you. ;^)

BTW, speaking of NPR, finished Bobos in Paradise last night, pretty funny.
