<<uw--Is there truth the the St Peterburg FL article that our GI's who are injured and hospitalized have to pay for their food while in the hospital? If so, what is the law number, or title? >>

Ok, you are assigned to a unit and the unit mess gets paid $8.10 a day for your food, which you sign for. When you go TDY, temporary duty, either to another unit for a short stay or the hospital your unit mess doesn't get the $8.10 per day for your food, it gets paid to you, tax free. You can eat your three squares and pass on the $8.10 that was given to you or starve and pocket the $$. Yep, this guy was charged $8.10 per day for his food but was also given $8.10 a day by the army to pay the bill. He lost nothing out of pocket. This is the second go around on this issue trying to make Bush look bad.
