Those were the days, mine are 32 and 30. Here's an interesting comment re Martin's coronation. REALITY CHECK
September 22, 2003

OTTAWA – If the Liberals
considered their delegate
selection process to be a
“super weekend,” one would
hate to see what they think of
as a bad one. Earlier this
summer, the Liberal party
boasted about its mounting
membership number –
531,536 at last report. But
only a small fraction actually
showed up to vote for the
Party’s next leader. What
good is a large membership,
if people aren’t interested in
participating, or don’t even
know that they are members?

Only 11.4 percent of Liberal
party members actually cast
a ballot this past weekend.
Compare this sparse Liberal
showing with the last
Canadian Alliance leadership
race, in 2002, when 71
percent of the membership
voted.

At the riding level, Mr. Harper
received more total votes. Mr.
Harper received 48,561 in
2002 compared to Mr.
Martin’s 47,892.

In addition, the election cost
Paul Martin supporters
$175.00 a vote. That’s a high
price to pay for democracy.
