"and start to be a self- involved kook?" A lot of people probably viewed Jesus in just that way...and perhaps they were right. Being a kook to others is not necessarily a bad thing. Apparently, those who invited the wedding guests were well aware of what to expect from our individualist. They could have suggested some special considerations be entertained to honour the rigidity of the occasion.
