In an earlier post, I referred to Powell floating the idea of a six month "constitutional timeline" (not deadline, as some reports have characterized the proposal), in order to get a desired UN resolution. Well, as usual, no one seems to have consulted the Iraqis. After all, it's only their country, and the Shiites only happen to be a majority.

A spokesman for Iraq's main Shi'ite group says six-months is not long enough to formulate a new constitution for his country.
