Why shouldn't they......for many folks.....both young and old, drugs are as important as food. So should government pay for drugs and food and housing? What else? Not even close............that's an exaggerated, right wing fear that gets old very quick. If government did pay for all those things then you pretty much would have a socialist system. Perhaps you mean that is an exaggerated fear in the sense that you don't think government is going to pay for all those things. Well you might be right about that, I don't think it is going to start any time soon either. But if it did (and the overall trend has been in that direction so eventually it could) you would have a largely socialist system. socialism is not the evil its cracked up to be Involuntary socialism is evil.
