I'm tempted to post the Times obituary to Edward Said which was surly and lacked serious appreciation of his intellectual influence, range, and courage, but then Richard Bernstein never appreciated those kinds of things anyway. It does, however, give folk some small appreciation of his work.

But I won't. That would inevitably lead to some very ugly moments in which there would be retaliations with ugly stuff, which would lead me to find other, better essays on his work and influence.

So, I won't go there.
