You've got to be one of the most presumptious people on SI. Have I said Bush is a hero? Have I said anyone in this administration is a hero? I haven't even implied such. Stop putting words in other people's mouths. Your reading comprehension is inversely proportional to your imagination.

"Any man who wins a Bronze Or Silver Star is a true hero."

You are an easy sale. That's like saying any CEO who earns $10M plus is automatically a great manager. I've yet to see the particulars on Clark's awards, and believe me, the circumstances are relevant. Many military awards are given for simply participating with a unit in an action and doesn't automatically mean that some heroic feat was performed. Even being wounded can mean just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. A Purple Heart can be awarded for a self-inflicted cut. Getting a military decoration is the equivalent of an annual report. I want to see the Form 10-K - I want to see the circumstances. Puffery is everywhere, just look at this thread.

One suggestion to you, American Spirit. People would respond better to you if you took their word at face value and if you didn't accuse them of saying things they don't.

P.S. I can't respond further tonight. I have to work tomorrow.
