As all improvements in technology increases productivity..

The Bush administration is overusing this excuse to cover up for their failed programs though. Productivity enhancements helped US companies compete especially in the 90s but in a lot of cases, what we are seeing now is not productivity improvements but labor reallocation that is being reported as productivity.

There is more to productivity improvements than labor cost savings anyway. I'm not sure technology really took away the jobs we've lost. Mostly it just made industries more efficient, a different argument.
