If you were employed in early 2002 you would know that there was virtually NO offshoring trend or sense that jobs were leaving at that time. Then, this market correction and recession were merely viewed as typical, cyclical recessions- note that this was post 911. We had a nice snapback in the markets in early 02.

Bush kept the country in a perpetual state of war for the next year. The markets collapsed due to some unrelated things like Enron and Bush's relentless war-mongering. Bush was ready to start wars with every country on the planet, it was amazing. Meanwhile companies got desperate to cut costs during the period and offshoring took hold.

So let me repeat again- there was no offshoring or massive permanent job loss early on in this recession. It was the pessimism and warmongering coming from Bush that destroyed the jobs climate in the US and sent it on a path that we can't recover from now. When Clinton was president, the future looked BRIGHT.

Thank god Bush is a one-termer.
