Not necessarily. The reaction of the media to Bush's announcement last week that there was no link between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein was instructive. Only two national papers carried the item on the front page. The NY Times and the Washington Post buried this revealing item.

I think Bush can still rely on a compliant media to serve him.
