Unfettered? Perhaps word of mouth and direct accounts person to person... However, I doubt we will be seeing anyone reporting these any time soon - it doesn't mesh with the political objectives* of most of the press. I do hope I am proven wrong by this but I cant imagine seeing a Newsweek/Time cover "IS THE MEDIA LYING ABOUT IRAQ?" any time soon.

* Not implying a conspiracy - that political objective (for many) may simply mean being critical of government (to the point of ignoring the whole truth)... particularly when you dont like the administration in power.

It's obviously easy enough to do (see John's posts about Said, AIDS in Africa funding, education etc. for a running example of this...).
