Mastermind Sid, should we also assume that "Toronto is not in North America, it's in Canada!"?

"You don't know what you're talking about. Leningrad is not in Europe, it's in Russia as is Minsk. And the British have always said they are NOT part of Europe. London is not in Europe. You have a serious know-it-all problem."

Europe is a continent. Russia is a country. Minsk is the capital of Belarus and is also located in Europe. Our beloved conspiracy patsy, Lee Harvey Oswald lived in Minsk during his brief Soviet vacation. St. Petersburg (nee Leningrad) is highly regarded as a cultural center of the continent upon which it is located: Europe. It is sometimes charmingly referred to as, "the Venice of the North". Surpringly many maps also place Venice as part of Europe, too. London is indeed part of Europe, no matter how much disdain the Isle inhabitants show for other folks on "The Continent".

A continent can contain more than one country. A country can span more than one continent. See map: wikipedia.org
