Again, realizing that intelligent debate isn't something that the wingers can offer up here on SI when the words idiot and unAmerican are taken away from them, I would like to delve into this issue of jobs, or the lack of them for citizens of this country, and Codpiece's efforts to eliminate taxes on corporate dividends.

Now that those promised jobs aren't materializing as Cod promised, he is falling back on defending this reality by citing the productivity gains in the workforce. However, if one looks at the real world of this productivity gains, a vast part of these "gains" can be traced to one company. That company being Walmart! A company with $245 billion in sales last year and with their ad campaign of "Buy American" tossed in the trash can of reality when you consider that Walmart imports from China over $12 billion dollars of the products sold in their stores. Yeah! "Buy American"...what a fleeting memory!

But lets looking at the results of this behemoth that Sam Walton created. What are the end results of this giants impact on the American economy and jobs for the citizens of this country? How has Walmart been able to lower the cost of their goods sold in their stores and thus improve the productivity rates in the economy...albeit without helping the job market?

Walmart has a global workforce of 1.4 million. However, they have a turnover rate approaching nearly 50%.. How could this be? The answer is simple! All those people that you see working in those Walmart stores are making wages LOWER than what is considered the federal poverty level of approximately $18,000.00.....AND they have no medical benefits, because they in the most part are part-time workers.

So what do we get from this company's efforts? Well, the answer is simple. We get all the manufacturing jobs sent over-seas, to the cheap labor markets of China and other southeast Asian countries. So we get Walmart workers making poverty level wages and other workers, that "once" had jobs in manufacturing goods for Walmart, in the unemployment line.

And how did Codpiece want to reward ...not Sam Walton, because he is dead, but his heirs? Heirs by the way that have contributed NOTHING to our society other than police records by some..and all because they happened to "make" wise choices in who their father was. Codpiece wanted to waive taxes on the Walmart stock, thus giving these deadbeats,a free and unabated reward of $500,000,000.00 a year...and in return we the taxpayers and our children get saddled with a national debt that is the largest in the history of our nation. And China, Japan and other nations get our jobs and our money, so that in return they can buy our government bonds making this nation the biggest debtors in the world.

Thanks, Walmart! You tout "Buy American"...when in reality you are selling out AMERICA ...and me questioning this makes me unAmerican in the eyes of the SI wingers. Go figure!
