Yes, I know her work. I liked Crooked Little Heart- and I read Bird by Bird. She's ok. Not one of my favorite authors. Some authors are perfect, others are almost perfect, third tier are sufficient - I would say she is sufficient. I won't read anything less than sufficient (totally subjectively my opinion, of course). I prefer to read perfect authors and their perfect books- but you don't know until you are a bit in to a book which kind you are reading, and then it is often too late to quit.
