I do not want to sound glib, but what is happening in Iraq does not sound like an utter disaster to me.

What I do find odd is that it appears to be a surprise to the US administration to the point that they now want help from the very same people that they were so dispariging to.
They seriously had no plan to this thing. This is reason enough for the US public to kick them out of office.

Clearly Bush has mis-managed US citizens expectations. His request for assistance is solely based on a face-saving tactic with the US voting public. What the rest of the world has to decide is do they really want to save Bush's hide to get him re-elected, even if the cost of this is more strife in Iraq.

If you consider this as "giving comfort to terrorists ...to kill Americans ", then you are probably the sort of person that believed whole-heartedly everything that was presented as a reason for this mis-guided adventure.

Bush is not asking for help for Iraq, he is asking for help to get re-elected. I suppose if you don't ask, then you don't get. So good luck to him.
