couldn't find the post -- but you mentioned that energy savings to be had in architecture or passive solar designs might be one of the best places to look for efficieny.

Read an article in a "weird" magazine my wife subscribed to -- it made a pretty good argument for this. I hadn't looked at the numbers before -- amount of energy consumed by buildings and transportation in the whole mix ...

Could be we are focusing on the wrong things again.

Also an interesting article in the same mag about Low Temperature Polymerization of waste products -- turkey poop, parts, etc. Claimed only 1/3 of the btus were consumed to produce a "barrel" of this "green" oil. I'm sure the place where the rubber meets the road is the potential is only for very small volumes with respect to our annual consumption -- but it was interesting.
