Once again we are talking about different things. I'm simply saying that the old Powell doctrine about overwhelming force should have been invoked to cover security measures during the occupation. Not having done so, US troops are paying a price.

What's striking is that the Bush people will not admit to their mistakes and thus have no public ways to correct them. Sometimes that appears not to matter too much. As in the replacement of Garner by Bremer. But at this level it matters a great deal.
