Don, re LSI. Assuming there are no LSI-specific issues, Michael Santoli had a very good explanation for the drop in small stocks that had done very well up to now.

He said fund managers who are satisfied with their gains will now re-balance their holdings to mimic their benchmark index. So they will reduce their position in stocks that had above average gains to the level of their representation in their target index. So unless a buyer steps up to absorb the shares, the price will stay weak.

I don't know if a share-holder can avoid this type of impromptu profit-taking. And as for entry point, if LSI at $4/share was not tempting enough, why should $9 or $8 or $7 ?

I have a similar dilemma, but it is regarding exit point. The main stock in my portfolio is near a 4-year high. But since my view is that stocks are going higher, I am staying 100% invested.

Your point that any good news is a couple weeks away is well taken. Sentiment will drive prices at this time. Since I don't know how to predict the sentiment shift, I'm staying fully invested. Regarding LSI, I tripled my position last week - by taking on some margin. Though I think Altera is the better stock in the long run. I have quite a bit of that one, too.
