Who needs jobs?

You sure you didn't write that piece Searle? Kind of your style, you know, poking fun, playing the devil's advocate, cynical.

Re: The Stiglitz piece. I doubt America will go protectionist simply because it would spell the end of globalization. That is the bigger game, the pot of gold. But what I am wondering, will that mean a global work force, equalized in costs and benefits? Will the eager diligent compliant Asian factory worker earn $30. US/hr like his counterpart in Europe or America? Or will the Europeans and Americans make say $30./day, like his counterpart in Asia? Or will there be any counterparts left to compare with?

Is it a rush to the top or a rush to the bottom?
