oh what? they just sit there and 'accept' what ever they are told?

no, they are there by election for leadership and representation of their state, our voice, ears and eyes, to research legislative measures, and assess their potential effects - it is their job

by committee, by access to various branches of government, by public hearings, work sessions

"I, (name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign, and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

if you have to find blame, it is not one man, it is not one party, it is our entire government - it's called the legislative process

but that doesn't fit your 'bash Bush so a democrat will be elected' agenda

carry on your rant, no one is buying it, least of all me
