Kerry was the leader of the Swift Boats offensive actions aainst enemy positions on the Mekong, a very hot zone. Before Kerry, our Swift Boats would run away from fire. Kerry decided to hell with that, and made it a new policy to charge the enemy, even beaching the boats and pursuing enemy into the jungle. That policy saved lives and took the fight to the enemy. Dangerous victories were won. Ask his boat mates. They all will come out to campaign with him, to disprove cynical right-wingers like you with scurrilous accusations and fabrications.
