Booing is a way of showing disfavor just as cheering is a way of showing agreement. Did you consider that Wolfie's comments might have been so offensive that the audience felt the only way to convey their displeasure was by booing?

When you invite someone to your university, a civilized behaviour is to treat the guest with respect, or not to invite him at all. But, the universities these days are the farthest thing from civility. Intimidation, intolerance of ideas other than university enforced political correctness are the norm.

In the 20th century, American univesities have rarely been places of civility.....well maybe in the Midwest but not on two coasts. And European universities are not much different......isn't the German universities where the students stamp there feet if they don't like what the prof is saying?

People in their twenties have a much thinner veneer that their elders and are much more sensitive to BS. I don't think that warrants or excuses their belligerent behavior but their reaction doesn't surprise me.

Well, but there is a bright side. Even though the US universities practice Taliban light, as far as thought control, we have diversity of skin colors, ethnicities, language backgrounds, sexual orientations / positions, variety of tatoos, body piercing and other self mutilation. So its not all bad. <g>

That's funny. <g>

I should tell you that I'm back in school. I started last week. <g>
