I used schwab for my trades for a few years and then I dumped my full service broker. Then went with e-trade for my IRA. Then Brown & Co for my reg account. I'm not that thrilled with E-trade.. esp trying to talk with real person.. I'm not doing to many trades in my IRA right now.. It is all in Sun Microsystems.. < g > ... I have had very good over-all experience with Brown & Co... phone trades are not bad and can trade with real person for same price $19.00 and they answer a lot quicker than the other discounters... I might transfer my IRA from E-trade to Lombard... I have heard good things about them... May open an account with Datek too... I think there are probably threads on all of the discount brokers..I know there is one for Datek.. As far as reliable...hmmmm. I think all are OK...but if one wanted to get through if the market was tumbling... probably would be difficult...but would be hard to get through to schwab or full service broker too... I still use schwab to stash most of my cash..as they do offer better MM rates than the other discount brokers.. Roger R
