Iraq is not the war on terror. That is the biggest lie of all. Theoretically it might help. But it has certainly drained all our resources, especially Arab-speaking intel operatives from much more Al Qaida infested areas of the world. You cannot debate that. You also cannot debate that it's drained away most of the money and manpower we needed to finish Afghanistan, find Osama and protect our homeland. It was based on an imminent threat of WMD's. No such weapons were found or will probably ever be found. Blame it on whoever you like, but it was a gross mistake. Perhaps it will someday do some good. In the meantime it's 200 billion ++ in deficit spending at a time we're running 500 billion a year deficits. The rich need to start paying. Only they can afford to.
