The NYT added a little extra to what you picked up on. I don't know who picks the titles for these things, but the headline should be, "Rove denies guilt".

Note how Bush "knows" it isn't true. McClellan told him so. Isn't that remarkable? McClellan, who is a paid flunky mouth piece, is in charge of telling the President of the United States of America what he should think!
At a certain point you have to wonder why these so called journalists don't take these clowns to the mat when they have them out on a limb. Wouldn't it be reasonable to follow up with, "So, Mr. McClellan, you know Rove didn't do it because he said he didn't do it, and you trust his word under the circumstances. And President Bush knows Rove didn't do it because you personally told him Rove should be taken at his word. Is that correct?".
It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out. So far the Bush Cartel has walked away scott free on every dirty deal they've pulled in the last 3 years. They've lied, cheated and murdered, and for some reason, every time they get caught the whole thing gets buried without a single charge being filed. The sharks seem to smell blood in the water on this round, and I get the impression who did what to who is an open secret in certain circles. I've seen the name of at least one of the six reporters who was contacted by the White House published. So, you've got at least 6 witnesses, plus the phone records to back them up. No one is even trying to pretend Wilson's wife wasn't CIA.
There's really nothing left to investigate. What needs to be done is to make the arrests. Or as Wilson put it, "frog walk Rove out of the White House in handcuffs". |
