Jay, it was me who made the reference to noocular attack on China since Haim thought that general destruction of China via an official war would be a good idea. I find it amazing that people can consider such ideas in any serious vein. Let alone actually publish them as though they make any sense.

Haim would have to use something which goes BANG to do said damage. Why not cut to the chase and use noocular bombs? They worked on Japan. Depending on what "worked" means. Because the damage to Japan was relatively trivial [total killed less than a million and only two cities wrecked], the world's first noocular attack would need to be scaled up dramatically to wreak the destruction which Haim is thinking of.

Serious reduction of China's productive capacity would require many noocular bombs. The USA doesn't have enough Tomahawk cruise missiles and stuff to stop 1.3billion working. I suppose the USA could blow up the various ports and railway lines and that would stop exports. Then Haim could get a job down at the factory in Peoria and make the things which China currently makes. His problem would be that he would sell almost nothing because what he produced would be far too expensive for the newly impoverished Americans, who would no longer be selling anything to the Japanese, Arabs and Aussies, who sell to the Chinese, so the American customers of Haim couldn't afford anything even if it was reasonably priced.

I wonder if there's more than one American with ideas like Haim. It might be time to hit the "Sell USA" buttons. Maybe there really is sufficient MADness in the USA that they will self-destruct by voting for protectionism and war on the evil aliens.

Perhaps the Americans in this discussion could tell us whether they think Haim has got a bright idea or a dud. Has he got a quorum? A simple majority?
