Confirmation.... Financial Post - Tuesday September 30, 2003 David Brennan, executive vice-president, North America, of AstraZeneca PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael S. Cloutier as President and CEO of AstraZeneca Canada Inc. effective October 1st, 2003. Mr. Cloutier has over 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, most recently as president and CEO of the former Pharmacia Canada organization. In addition, Mr. Cloutier has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for Canada's Research Based Pharmaceutical Companies (Rx&D) and was Co-Chair of the Ontario Regional Committee of Rx&D. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Dimethaid Research Inc., Paladin Labs, the Canadian Arthritis Network and the Board of Governors of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cloutier will replace Gerald P. McDole who will retire from the company after 20 years at its helm.
