Leaving home without your license, insurance card or registration could be a very pricey mistake, should you get pulled over by the police.

The state Auto Insurance Reform Bill, which took effect on Aug. 15, raises the fines statewide for not possessing a license along with proof of insurance and registration from $44 to $173.

Alisha Allen, deputy court administrator for Fairfield Township, said individuals who are stopped by police and do not possess the proper papers, such as a license, proof of insurance and registration, are now subject to pay a $173 per ticket written for these offenses.....
