He killed her because of her western lifestyle Let me agree with you on that for a moment. I have a different interpretation though. He killed her because she openly was defiant of his wishes. This made him lose his self respect and allowed hatred to build in his heart. Men being physically stronger then women have traditionally used force to control them. He is foreign to this country, and probably lived a lifestyle where you normally used a knife if someone really pi*ed you off. He had a beautiful daughter who is now gone. He killed her. If you re read the story with my interpretation in mind to just see one sorry idiot who needs to be pitied rather then feared as an enemy..
