Ed,

Those articles are bogus. They don't offer anyone a clue.

The abandoned pipeline was 8" diameter.

The proposed replacement is 42" in diameter.

The amount of oil to be shipped to Haifa is to be increased by a factor of at least 50.

Area of Pipeline:

8" x 3.14 = 25 sq. in.

42" x 3.14 = 132 sq. in.

Pressure allowable:

1940 standards:

10 psi

2004 standards:

140 psi

Velocity = ??

Quantity shipped = ??

*******
I don't have access to the salient pressure/diameter calculations. I'd be appreciative of any who do.

But the evidence is overwhelming. Western interests want to pump Iraq dry as soon as possible. And do it via Haifa.
