1) Argentina defaulted. If the IMF gives Argentina respite, Brazil will default too!!!

FT says:
"Economists say Brazil requires accelerated economic growth to ensure its long-term public debt servicing ability and thereby help further tightening of its country risk premium."

The country has to pedal to stay in the same place and Lula can be forced to see the situation under the perspective of the supporters of a default.

2) Lula was assertive, both in Cancun and in his speech at the UN, because he knows he is holding LATAM biggest potential default and want to have a respite himself since he's paying his due.
