Sorry, but what a bunch of crap. "They also know very well that they will lose their jobs if their funds tank." Not true. If they (mutual fund managers) do well on a relative basis, they keep their job and probably get a nice bonus. "I even think that there is a vague sense of community among fund managers. They know they are dependent on each other." Where do you get this stuff? Managers COMPETE against each other and if you think they sit around conspiring to somehow keep the market up, you are more naive than your post would suggest.
