Rick, I am going to give you a reason why this stock may be going down. In the Sep. issue of Yahoo under IS IT TIME YET? someone asked if it was time to get a 56Kbps modem. Their answer was maybe not because your local ISP may not support them. Here is what else it said. AOL has leaped ahead, offering 56Kbps service to 120 cities. Adoption of 56Kbps is slow mainly because the industry has yet to come to an agreement on a standard. The battle is being fought by US Robotics (partner with 3Com ) and Rockwell. These are the two leading modem manufacturers. If you use US Robotics/3com's x2 technology (as AOL is ), you can't use an ISP that supports Rockwell's K56Flex modems, and vice versa. US Robotics/3Com's standard is being supported by an inpressive group, including CompuServe, Netcom, MCI Com, IBM Global Network, US West, and nearly 100 other ISPs. Rockwell format is being supported by computer makers such as Compaq, HP and Toshiba. So you can see who is going to be the leader and ASND doesn't look good right now.
