Clinton's backroom support team? What imaginary backroom is that?

You think they're organized and all stick around CLinton? What about Gore? What about Kerry? Kerry has plenty of Clinton and Gore people on his staff. They're not living in the past. Maybe you are though. Dems want one thing in 2004, to win. Whatever Clinton thinks will be listened to, but they dont take orders from him anymore. Nobody does, not even his wife or Wes Clark.

Once you're out of power, you have influence, but no longer the actual power. CLinton also has no real money. He cannot make things happen. He can only influence them. Proof is, Clinton wants Dean out of the way. Dean is still running at or near the top after Clinton made it clear he does not want him. Clinton may have what it takes to weaken Dean just enough in the end, but he cannot dictate anything.
