I remember in 1980 when people around Washington State said they wished Mt. St. Helens would "hurry up and blow." Of course it did finally, killing 56 people and dumping 4-8 inches of ash for a couple hundred miles east.

I also recall a photo of some people in Alaska who went down to see the tsunami after the '64 quake. They were at the loading docks, and the caption of the photo said the photographer fled right after the photo and that all people in the photo were drowned.

And I won't even get into the loads of people praying for a stock market tsunami right now... gotta be careful of what you wish for!
