Jim, perhaps you can help on this: I see the US$ as forming a tadeable double bottom here (from June). I'd like to go long the US$, but dont' know what instrument to use. MY broker IB, doesn't tade US$ futures, but they do trade other currency futs. Is there an ETF or even Mutual Fund that would allow me play the dollar long?

Dave:

Outside of futures contracts and currency trading I'm not familiar with individual mutual or closed end funds that strictly trade on the value of the dollar...

Here are some sites that may be helpful:
petrofunds.com
fxcm.com
refcofx.com

An indirect way to trade the direction of the dollar is to buy precious metals funds when the dollar falls and to buy the QQQ and or SPX when the dollar rises...
