It seems to me that attacking another's hypotheticals is fraught with serious risks, judging by the increasingly personal and virulent comments about you I am reading!

Perhaps, as can happen sometimes in research or writing, there is some form of identification going on here where the creator of the hypothetical becomes his character to such an extent that he no longer can view alternatives except through the prism of his own creation. Objectivity is lost and personal attack is perceived as being against the self, and no longer against the idea.

I personally feel very defensive about dear Auntie K and suggested that almost everyone else bore the blame for her situation. I was just amazed when you finally described her as self-absorbed. I have friends who overdress, some who underdress, I have a female relative who refuses to wear a skirt period. Life is full of live and let live scenarios, and it seems we have one here at Sharks. Perhaps it is time to let Mojo the Hypothetical Who Became A Real Man practice in either puerile or noble peace.

When things reach the level of attacking someone's personal life, I think they have gone way way too far. Mojo is fair game as an alleged hypothetical presented for just such a discussion. Your life is not.
