--- the fact that they were IDed as Israeli military
LOL! That suggests that they were spies?
Service in the IDF is obligatory, according to the Defence Law. This law applies to:
* Nationals of the State of Israel (in Israel and abroad), even if they have another nationality. * Permanent residents of Israel, even if they are not Israeli nationals. mfa.gov.il;
Well, so much for your budding career as a sleuth. Next?
--- they were movers, the same cover as some of the other Israeli spies[.]
A little pyramiding, eh? What "other Israeli[s]" are you referring to here, and what makes you believe that they were or are "spies"?
And...lest you profess expertise, further attempt, or are otherwise permitted to offend truth and common sense...I can tell you (as a lifelong New Yorker) that on the business landscape of this city there are hundreds of small moving companies staffed almost entirely by foreigners. They're predominantly young Mexican, English, Irish, Chinese, Caribbean and, yes, Israeli men.
Why? Because all it takes to get started is time, an old truck, and a few backs. And, given the thousands of people moving into and out of the city every day, there's never a shortage of available moving jobs. Again, not what anyone who lives here would call unusual, surprising, or otherwise noteworthy.
--- they were carrying the multiple passports, lots of cash, etc.
The moving companies described above - which is to say, the majority of all moving companies in the tri-state area - do a couple of jobs each day and are paid in cash; one would be more surprised, given the the ad hoc nature of that business, to find those individuals well-versed (or interested) in the nuances of check and credit card payment methods, LOL.
As for having "the" multiple passports, where was that in the article?
