Jane,

going back and reading your posts it is easy to see that you are an intelligent lady. With that in mind, i want to ask you something...

When trying to make money (as most of us are), when if ever does ego matter?

All that matters is information and how well one can use it. Even bad information is useful if one knows that the one posting it most often gets it wrong.

And after one gets to 'know' certain posters, their opinion becomes even more valuable than the 'facts'. It is more valuable because their opinion is a distillation of certain facts. Once again even bad 'distillers' can be valuable.

And all opinions are almost by definition 'ego based'. So i wouldn't care if Hitler himself (i'm not comparing Iso to Hitler) were spouting his opinion on a thread. I would read it and use it, if i found it useful. Ego, Good or Evil make no difference. Info is info, and opinion is opinion. An intelligent person such as yourself makes cold, objective as possible (one can never be totally objective) decisions based on ALL the information that one has.

So count me in with Jim Black. I'll read Iso's board and the posters that i have the time and inclination to read (i have no one on ignore, not ever).

And as for Iso in particular, if you bother to check back far enough in his posts, he wasn't 'overly friendly' to me either, but so what? He doesn't owe me a thing, and i do owe him because i read and 'use' his posts. He has valuable insights that he shares with anyone who cares to read (as do many others on his thread). Personally, i wouldn't care if he decided to call me names in every post. (well i'd probably care, but i wouldn't object).

About the only thing i really hate to see is personal attacks on other posters, because it tends to stop the flow of information.

best regards to you Jane,
-gru
