Look at the open interest in August 50 calls and puts, it's roughly the same. (6K+ contracts). The market makers want it to be very close to 50 so that all these calls and puts expire pretty much worthless. 12K+ open interest in August 55 means no MM wants it to close above 55. and roughly 10K open interest in 45 puts means they don't want it to close below 45. Again, I am assuming that the MMs in options and options are related, somehow. Any comments.
