There will come a time when Affirmative action is not needed. I don't think we are there yet.

I'm not sure when it was started that there was any thought given to ending it. It certainly is never the natural tendency of government to sunset laws, although I'd say it is becoming more so in our time.

There are those even in the black community who find AA offensive and are correctly afraid that the good it it may have done will be undone by some unintended consequences. Is it better to leave it in place past the time of it's need? I'm afraid that Jesse Jackson will never acknowledge that day. I'm thinking it may prove to be a divisive item between the growing brown community and blacks more so than a backlash from the white or asian groups.

I put one of those patches on the first day I quit smoking but took it off the next day. Sooner or later it becomes a matter larger than the medicine.
