With all due respect.. on your comment <<Yes, the Pentagon really wants them in Iraq. Along with Indians (to do in Iraq, what they've failed in 50 years of trying in Kashmir), and Turks (to piss off the Kurds), and Bangladesh (which fought a nasty war of independence against Pakistan). Soldiers from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, they will all mesh nicely, don't you think? All pulling in harness together, to rid the world of terrorism. Right.

It's stupid, but it's consistent with past patterns of stupidity.

I'm surprised they haven't asked Israel for some troops, to patrol the Shiite holy cities. >>

A refresher course in contemporary history; pointing fingers on others is great however Indian sub-continent is cradle of civilization. The partition in 1947 and Bangladesh war of independence of 1971, the insurgency in Kashmir are and were tragic events but don’t forget that none of these nations ‘caught in tragic spiral of Arab history imposed on them by invading barbarians’ did not design in our part of the world special poison factories to eliminate races for ethnic cleansing. We are novice in devising terror and means of terrors rather Saddam and ‘our’ tyrants are far lesser evils in terms of their abilities and scope of rage against mankind at large, it is nice to make a condescending remarks about our region but much as we are involved in the regional infighting Hindus or Muslims in their 1000 year of coexistent history never planned an Auschwitz, that credit only goes to western civilisation and dare not anyone points finger to us as greater evils or object of ridicule, no greater evils has ever been surpassed by tyrants that represented the heart of 'Nazi doctrine' as the 'church in Rome' looked other way.

Murder with design carries death sentence whereas murder arising from outrageous spontaneous anger sometime is called only as manslaughter. Sub- continent is guilty of
later not the former.

Sub- continent with all the ridicule associated with it cannot produce Beethoven or Mozart although Tansen was acclaimed by Abul Fazal, ( the celebrated historian adorning the court of Akbar the Great ) to be the greatest Indian musician since the time of Bharat. Rabindranath on the other hand, is universally regarded as one of the greatest poets of all times but fortunately we are not coldhearted and pitiless to plan an Auschwitz.

The war in Afghanistan, the ruthlessness of Auschwitz and the pitiless killings of First World War and the Second World War are not a collective guilt of sub-continent these are stigmas on mankind forehead stamped by western civilization, those who talk of human rights mercilessly curbed human rights with ruthlessness that no one can ever imagine!

In cruelty and in sub human treatment of man western civilization with all its greatness has a lot to answer. West before pointing fingers towards these unfortunate nations has a lot to answer, in Sierra Leone if you care to check it is these poor nation soldiers who are brining peace. Somalia and Afghanistan are direct victims of greatest cold war battles ever fought to blame it on the poverty stricken Afghanis is an absurd thing for Russians and Americans.

Putin and Bush are friends today but yesterday Brezenski of Carter use to point Kalashnikov from Torkham into Russian occupied Afghanistan and tell the poor Pakistanis to taken on the evil empire. That pointing of guns led to creation of Taliban’s and in no time once the evil empire was gone the war in Afghanistan was forgotten, the peace dividend was great for stock markets but left the seed of instability that culminated into Taliban un-patronised to be hijacked by Al-Qaeda, it is always policy of instant gratification that has led to disasters, once for a change USA is ready to fix their focus and achieve results that is a nice change for the nations in the Islamic crescent, although it hurts a lot of self styled liberals too.
It is fashionable to point fingers on unfortunate victims of proxy wars but fact remains that western civilization has lot to answer for these miseries. Shortsightedness and instant gratification is not how human race moves forward, the level of historical oversight by many harbingers of western civilization shocks me to no bounds.
