Ten,
re: Who among the Gang of Ten is going to be more "fiscally conservative" than Bush?
Probably anyone. Bush has been a fiscal nightmare, huge government growth, if you look past the rhetoric.
I freely admit to being a social liberal; I think a good part of our taxes should go to those that can't help themselves, I think that's what an enlighten society does. To me, that's not complicated; it's part of being civilized.
Maybe no Democrat will follow in Clintons footsteps. But if you look at the real record, vs. the rhetoric, Clinton managed to shrink government. Bush is growing government, and it's not just the war thing, he's very weak on spending discipline. It may be out source spending, but it's still a huge increase. (Some would say he's out sourcing to his political buddies).
Listen, I'm a political agnostic. But, IMHO, this Bush guy is real ugly wrt to this country. He's managed to negate all the years of progress the free world has accumulated since WW2. He's freaking up the future of the US economy, in an effort to get reelected by pumping a few bucks into each consumers pockets. He's in it for something other than the benefit of majority of the US citizens, he's got a political agenda.
That's my opinion, dismiss it if you want. Just know that I don't have an axe to grind; I'm a social liberal and fiscal conservative by nature. This Bush guy grates me on both sides.
