Granted they have lost a lot of their tax base to Virginia, probably not Maryland. All the money comes from property taxes in NW DC. Ted Kennedy is one of those dopes paying the high property taxes. DC needs to realize that with Virginia and Maryland so close, their tax rates need to be competitive or the Tax base will leave. Unfortunately, the DC council votes not on the scientific method but on the fantasy land method of to max revenue just raise tax rates and bingo you get more revenue.
