Can we all finally agree now that the GOP's obsession with Clinton's zipper had nothing to do with sex?

I watched a tape of my friend Tami Stevens and her Husband giving a dance performance for the Clintons at the White House in 98. As I watched them Lindy, the camera would keep cutting to Bill and Hillary, and I was struck by the obvious phony expressions of delight on their faces as they watched the dancing. I thought, "what must it be like to go through life living such an obvious lie?"

It reminded me of that famous tape of Bill walking out of a church after attending a funeral with a pious expression on his face. He turned to some friends when he thought he was off camera, started laughing and joking, and then looked like a kid caught with a cookie jar when he realized the cameras were still on.

I guess, if you are cynical enough, you could just say, "Well, he just wasn't that good at being a phony." But I saw it as the basic character flaw in the man. He just couldn't hide it all the time.
