This statement is totally unfair.

Conservatism as partisan sport--the opposite of principled, ideological debate--has become major entertainment and helped debase much right-aisle political debate into an undifferentiated noise of team-rooting.

Rush's show is founded on consistent easily identifiable principles. On top of that he adds a layer of humor and skewering of leftist sacred cows - all consistent with the core principles.

The idea that what he is doing is not political debate is laughable. His show spawn gigabytes of debate on the internet ever day. A debate doesn't have to be done in 3 minute bites with the same tired hacks yelling at each other. Adams and Jefferson carried on a classic debate by mail over decades.
