In the 2 months after shrub entered the White House the Dow took it's largest post-bubble hit...to around 9200. That was the market pricing in the ineptitude to come.
Nasdaq numbers are not helpful in assessing that since the naz had its own problems. The overall economy is represented better by the Dow.
It's taken almost 3 years for the market to move up 400 points overall so it's not like there's been any real "exuberance" to short.
I think the prospects of shrub getting ridden out of DC on a rail is what's behind the Dow staying over 9000.
